Pradeep chauhan asked:

It is really amazing to hear that in India the internet usage has grown more than 11 times over the last seven years. This internet boom is being driven not by metros, but by smaller and non-metro towns, where the number of users has risen by a whopping 69 times and 33 times respectively since 2000. More and more Indian sites are coming every day with new and hot news and information. To make this news available to the targeted audience, these sites must be well surfed and easily viewable by the Indian visitors.

With the growing popularity of wordpress and blogspot blogs, news blogs with variety of topics from bollywood, sports to politics have been seen everyday. Such type of blogs requires a new approach for site promotion as these news survive for just a day or maximum a week. The easiest and quickest way to drive traffic to your news is to submit your news url to some popular news bookmarking sites that are especially made to target Indian surfers. In this article, I have tried to mention all the popular Indian news submitting sites.

Here goes my list…

1. Bookmarks.nazariya.com – It is a site where you can submit news and stories related to India and its subcontinent. Its users are growing continuously and have succeeded to provide quality news and hot stories. It covers a huge categories list from lifestyle to computer and technology.

2. Indianpad – In my view this is the best digg clone site specific to India. I myself is an active user of this website. It has a very clean interface and best part no intrusive ads. Here a user can also earn by showing ads on the stories submitted by him/her.

3. GyanIn – Another site with similar concept of digg. It still looks at initial stages. But it is worth to check out. Site loads quicker and has clean interface that may tempt you to digg here. Here I find some interesting stories there, you may also find some.

4. Rambhai – Although having a strange name, it is also growing popular and is worth to submit your stories and news here. It has covered all the common categories and glossy interface. So submit and vote your favorite stories here.

5. Putvote – Having a nice name and nice effort put in there. I think this site can improve its design and can put some glossy banners and heading for attraction.

6. NewsCola – It looks bit like reddit.com and you can submit your news here. It looks simple and worth to submit here.

Few other sites for quick view are indianbytes.com, bestofindya.com, humsurfer.com

charchaa.com, ekjut.com, mirchh.com and chalo.net

Davin Ogden asked:

Automate blog posting with new and improved software available. You may have noticed all of the great software that has been recently developed for blogging. At one time, these softwares were once a real “pain in the **** to use”, but this is no longer the case. It was almost always very disappointing long ago when trying to get effective results from these “so called” softwares.

We can thank our lucky stars that in the modern times we live, we have much better tools to automate blog posting. It could be that you might be wondering how come somebody would want to automate blog posting to begin with?

Blogging today isn’t just about a way to share information, pictures, and the latest gossip with family and friends. Blogging has become serious business for many people. In fact the building of powerful blogs and turning them into authority sites has really started to gain popularity. There are many reasons for this, but, certainly one of the main reasons is that webmasters have learned that the search engines absolutely love blogs and their ever changing content. This is one of the biggest reasons that webmasters are utilizing blogs more everyday into their marketing plans.

One of the things you may be noticing is that creating content can sometimes be very consuming, especially time wise, I’m always on the lookout for the best tools to help with this. Even though I am primarily a viral marketer, blogging has become a passion and I use the platform mainly now myself. Jack Humphrey has been leading the way in teaching about authority site building, and it’s been a pleasure learning about it from “The Man” himself. You certainly do not want to get left in the cold with everything that is involved with marketing in the new social media age. It’s been one of the greatest decisions of my life joining Jack and his amazing training with Social Power Linking. Seriously, it’s a downright necessity these days. Don’t kid yourself, the social sites and this type of marketing is here to stay. The only place it’s going is up, up, and up!

We are very fortunate that Jack Humphrey is leading the way with diamond sharp techniques and the greatest training around. It’s because of his vast knowledge that has led to the best software being developed as well. The company he has is the leading voice in this area and the software creations they are coming out with are absolutely incredible. Automated blog posting, excellent development in creating fast trackbacks, and even submitting to the major social sites is already covered with this top notch software. This helps so much in gaining those top search engine rankings very fast, and for your most targeted keyword phrases.

Since I was so amazed and impressed by these great tools, I’ve taken to owning each and everyone of them, thus far. They have given me the opportunity in recommending the highest quality of services and products to many up and coming web publishers. Whether you are just starting out, or are a little more advanced in the web publishing business it’s definitely the time to get involved with social media and marketing. With tools to automate blog posting, help with our submissions and search engine rankings, we simply couldn’t be living in a better time to get involved.

Douglas Smith asked:

Advertising Your Blog In Your Email Signature: If you have a blog that you are particularly proud of, and that you want to share with other people, there are a lot of free ways that you can get your blog noticed. One of those ways is something that you do everyday, and that you may not even consider as a way to share

your blog. Put the link to your blog in your email signature. Chances are that you send out emails more timese that you can count during the day, Each time you send out an email, you can advertise your blog by putting the address of your blog in your email’s signature. It’s always a good idea to write something catchy like, See what I am up to now, or Read my latest chapter of my fanfic here, depending on what type of blog you have. The thing to remember about putting an adveritsement in your signature for your blog is to make it short,

but eyecatching. You want people to be interested enough to want to click on it, but you also don’t want to scare them off. Just like it is with any adveritsement, you want to give them just enough to be interested and take a closer look at what it is that you are advertising. Think about what it is that your blog is about. What is really going to interest people abuot it and want to visit That is what you should include in your signature, and that is what is going to get people to go to your blog.

Blogger Forums – A Great Place To Advertise Your Blog: No matter what type of blog that you have, one of the best places that you can advertise your blog is to join a blogger forum. After all, everyone who posts there has a blog and thats the main subject. It’s a great place to meet other bloggers and to advertise your blog. There are quite a few blogger forums that you can sign up for on the Internet. One is known as Bloggeries, where you can show off your blog, get your blog reviewed or review other blogs, and find lots of tools that you can use for your own blog. Another good place to go is to Blog Forum. Blog Forum, like Bloggeries, has spots for you to market and show off your blog, Blogger forums are a great place to advertise because everyone in them are of the same mind and want to make certain that their blogs get noticed and read. If you use your blog to advertise something that you are selling, or you want to get a lot of traffic to your blog in order to make money, you want to go someplace where it can get exposure. When you advertise on a blog forum, you know that you are placing your advertisement in a place where blogging is something that people enjoy. Just remember when you are posting to a forum to read the rules and abide by them. That way you’ll get your blog noticed and you will know that you are doing the

Blogging Directories – Great Advertising Venues: If you want to have more people visit your blog, there are plenty of blog directories on the Internet that you can submit your blog to so that people will come and visit it. Most blog directories are listed by the topics that the blogs that are submited cover. Blog Catalog is a free blog directory that offers categories such as career and jobs, writing, Iraq, and many others. It has features such as featured blogs and other things to offer those who submit their blogs there. Another great place to add your blog is blog-drectory.org. Not only do they have an an extensive list of categories with sub categories, you can get your blog reviewed. For the most popular blogs, it shows the amount of hits that blogs have and if they have any reviews. As well as listing by category, the blogs are also listed by location. There are other blog directories on the Internet – these are only a couple of them. But blog directories are a great place to advertise your blog and to make

new friends. You never know what you will find when you browsing through the directory, and you may just find out information that you never knew. Some of the blog directories offer chat features as well, so that you can meet other people easily. As you can see, blog directories are a great place to get your blog noticed and bring people to read your blog and look at your pictures.

Blogging Traffic – Give And Take: Blogging traffic is a give and take relationship. Sometimes one of the best ways to get traffic to your blog is by visiting someone else ’s blog. Go to their blog and read one of their entries, or read a few of them. Chances are that you are going to find something that you have in common. When you find something that you find truly

interesting on a blog, leave a comment so that they know that you were there. One of the best known blogs available is LiveJournal. A great feature of LiveJournal is that you can search

for interests on their site and it will come up with results of those who have that interest. Are you interested in horseback riding You can see what other bloggers are interested in horseback riding as well. When you are commenting on someone’s post, you want to make sure that you don’t leave generic comment. If you like the post, say something about what you read in the post. After you have commented on the person’s post, then you can say something like, ‘I really like horseback riding too. I had a similar experience to yours.’ and

then use it to link back to your journal. But be sure that you sound sincere when you are

commenting, and don’t make them feel like you’re just fishing for traffic. If someone thinks that you are using their blog to get more traffic to yours, they won’t visit your site and your efforts will be wasted.

Join A Community To Advertise Your Blog: Something that you will find, especially if you join something like LiveJournal or GreatestJournal, is that users just like you have created communities for people with common interests. There are communities for just about any subject, and if you find that there isn’t a community for the subject you can create one. This is a great place to advertise your blog. The nice thing about communities is that there isn’t

any limit as to how many communities that you can join. For example, say that you love blogging about books, horseback riding, and skiing in Tahoe. All you have to do is look through the communities for ones that have those interests and join them. As long as you post something related to the topic to the chosen community, people will see you and perhaps

they will check out your personal blog. Something to remember is that you don’t want to write

a post tht is one sentence long in order to get people to go to your blog. They will want to know that what you write is interesting and is something worth reading. Joining communities can be a great way to advertise your blog and drive traffic to it. If you are referring to something that you posted about on your blog, you can use a link back to your entry in your post. As with posting comments on someone else’s blog, you don’t want people to think that you joined a community simply to get traffic to your blog. Otherwise, people won’t visit your blog and you may get banned from the community as well.

Email Groups – Hidden Treasure Troves For Advertising: Something that has become increasingly popular since the Internet has grown are the email groups that are available through Yahoo, MSN, and other venues. They are a great way to meet other people who have a common interest, and are very similar to the communities that are available through blogging sites. There is plenty of diverse subjects and there are communities for just about any subject. These groups can be a great place for people who have a blog about the subject and want to share it with other people. Most of the time when you join a group, you are

encouraged to take a moment and to introduce yourself. This is a great opportunity to tell people about your blog, but make certain that you don’t overdo it. Just like with any of the other places you will advertise your blog, you want to make people want to go to your blog. If you are too overbearing, you will turn people off. If your blog covers different subjects, you can

advertise it on the other groups that cover those subjects as well. Make certain that your post to the groups is interesting and that you let people know what it is that your blog is about. There’s nothing worse than getting taken to a blog under false pretences. When people visit your blog, make certain that you thank them for visiting and respond to comments that

they leave. If they know that you appreciate the time that they

took, they are more likely to come back again.

The power of being seen is the up most importance and blogging is one the best ways you can make sure others know of you, don’t let it pass you by.www.theonlinenbiznetwork.com, www.marinisgifts.com, www.onlinenichenetwork.com

Artist blogs provide an easy way to display your art, discuss your creative process, post exhibition announcements and more. Best of all, blogs require no working knowledge of HTML and the search engines love their dynamic content.

What is a blog and how will it sell my art?

A “blog” is a web-based diary or journal. The author of a blog, also known as a “Blogger”, publishes content on a regular basis about a focused topic. These regular postings typically provide a “community” feel by allowing site visitors to post feedback to your journal entries. This mode of communication can deepen relationships with potential art buyers, leading to increased sales.

Blogs also have the ability to archive all of your previous posts, dynamically creating an individual page for each journal entry. The feature is great for art buyers using search engines to find original art. For example, if you have a blog post describing a painting that you just completed of the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset and an art buyer in Florida goes to Google and searches for “painting of Golden Gate Bridge at sunset”, there is a very good chance that your blog entry will appear pretty high in the rankings. Cha Ching!!

Many artists have felt the pain of email marketing losing its effect due to spam filters, junk email overloads and virus paranoia. Blogs provide a new way to communicate with clients, fans and industry professionals. This trend can support your email marketing efforts by allowing blog subscription options for site visitors so that they are notified whenever your blog is updated along with providing a permanent place on the web for all of your postings as opposed to newsletter emails that are typically deleted.

How to start a blog

Blog Publishing Tools

To begin, visit some of these free blogging sites, all offering unique template options that even an artist can appreciate, image uploads and syndication ability.

Blogger.com (Simple to set up and multiple authoring ability) MSN Spaces (Create your own mini site, with an exceptional blogging feature) Live Journal (Requires a bit of ‘blogging knowledge’ to get it set up) Blog Drive

If you’re interesting in reviewing additional blog features, these sites require a small monthly fee to maintain.

Typepad (starts at $4.95/month)

Tripod Blogs (starts at $4.95/month)

Note to artists with MySpace accounts: MySpace provides members personal blogs, but it is important to know that MySpace blogs are not currently listed in search engines, which as noted above, is one of the main reasons to get a blog. While MySpace works to remedy this issue, it is recommended that you blog using a tool that is accessible to search engine spiders.

Decide on a title for your blog

The title of your blog should be brief and to the point. You can get creative with your language in the blog description / tag line. A focused title will help with higher search engine rankings and make it clear to visitors what the blog is about.

For example, the title for ThePauper.com blog is “Diary of a Pauper”. The blog description is “Rants and raves about the careers and lives of starving artists.” The title is concise, stating exactly what it is, while the description is a bit more creative.

Blog theme

It’s important to establish yourself as a professional working artist if you want to use your blog as a vehicle to sell your art. Blog theme involves the layout and color of the page, quality of the artwork images displayed and verbiage used for blog postings. Select your blog template carefully and make a habit to review your blog from the perspective of a potential client. Is the page visually appealing? Do the images of your artwork provide a link to an extra large version to see detail? Does your content have a consistent theme? Here’s a good example of a working blog by mix engineer, Ken Lewis: http://protoolsmixing. com/blog.html The content theme is exceptionally consistent, plus the colors and page layout match his website.

What to write

What’s beautiful about blogs is that there are no rules on what to write, but if you want to attract and keep an audience, you might consider some of these suggestions.

Keep your posts creative and interesting. Move and inspire your readers by being completely honest about your creative process.

Use keywords in your blog title and post. Using the example mentioned earlier – if your post is about a Golden Gate Bridge painting, be sure to use that exact phrase in the title and body of your blog. Think about what people might type into search engines to find your content and then use those keywords in your blog. This technique will help increase the ranking of your web page on search engines.

Post daily, or at least twice a week. If you publish blog entries frequently, you will see more return visitors, subscriptions to your blog and comments from site visitors.

Proofread and preview your blog entries before posting. Some blog HTML editors have a way of creating weird symbols out of certain characters and a quick spell-check never hurts. (Note: be sure to create your blog entries using Word or some other text editor. Many blogging tools tend to “time out” after a certain amount of time and you could potentially lose hours of work.)

Publish your blog Finally! Your blog looks great and has unique content. Now, depending on the blogging tool that you selected, follow the steps to publish it to the World Wide Web. Test the live URL that now houses your blog. If all of your graphics appear correctly and the copy is flawless, then you want to make sure that you promote your blog on your personal website, in your email signature and by word of mouth.

Using the tools you already have to spread the word while testing your dedication to frequent posting is the best way to get started. Part 2 of will unveil tons of ways to promote your blog online
