Before you turn in your resignation and hit the web, it is a good idea to get your feet wet in the world of blogging. Spend some time reading some blogs and interacting with blogging communities so you can get a better idea of how blogs work and how the communities are built. You might also want to guest blog for some of the more popular blogs or even write blog paid blog posts for someone else so you can better determine whether or not writing blogs is something you enjoy. After you have successfully built up a community with one blog, you might want to start dabbling in different ways to monetize your blog. Allowing pay-per-click advertisements to be placed on your blog is one way to monetize your site. In fact, if your blog becomes popular enough, you will find people coming to you and asking to place their ads on your blog.
Spreading Your Wings
If you find that you were able to make one blog a success, you might want to start looking into creating additional blogs. The key is to make certain you don’t overburden yourself by creating more blogs than you can keep up with while still holding down your job. After all, building a successful blog takes time and maintaining a successful blog requires making a commitment to add new blog content on a regular basis. Therefore, you don’t want to have so many blogs going that you cannot keep up with them.

But, once your blogs take off and you start earning a decent amount of cash from them, it just may be time to spread your wings and jump into blogging full time!

Marketing a New Online Business With Blogs ? Blog Your Way to Traffic Heaven!

June 11, 2010 - 6:37 am No Comments

If you’re reading this blog, chances are, you’re a new Internet business owner, looking for marketing advice. Or perhaps you’re thinking about joining an MLM program or a cash gifting club and are looking for information on how to market your opportunity. Either way, blogging is one of the one of the best ways for YOU to get going in the online business community.

A blog (short for weblog) is an online journal containing regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Blogs could be about anything, from strictly personal life observations to pop culture gossip.

So why should an Internet entrepreneur, such as yourself, maintain a blog? It’s quite simple. Blogs are a GREAT way for you to increase traffic to your business web-site while creating a trust relationship with your readers. The ultimate goal of your blog should be to increase visibility of your online business web-site, NOT to sell products or services. If you try to “plug in” a sales pitch in the middle of your blog, at the very least, the readers will be put off and leave and at the worst they will flag your blog as spam or inappropriate content. On the other hand, if you provide quality content, a vast majority of your readers will repay you by checking out your opportunity.

The other major added bonus of posting blogs is that they create what’s called “back-links” to your web-site, which is something that search engine spiders look for when they determine the position of any given web-site in the search rankings. More blogs = higher position in the Google and Yahoo! search engines.

So, how do you write a quality blog? How can you attract prospects to your online business without overtly “selling” them something? No one likes to be sold to, but everyone likes to buy. The key is to write your blog in a way that doesn’t aggressively “sell”, but “helps” the potential customers make their choice in favor of your product/service/opportunity.

For example, let’s say your business is selling electronic cookbooks. You might think that it would be best to write a blog like this:

“Super-Duper-Crazy-Cookbooks.com is EVERYTHING an aspiring chef could only dream of!

For only $9.99 get HUNDREDS of recipies, including rare dishes from Taiwan and Morocco!

Surprise your guests by whipping up our famous chocolate-strawberry souflee!

Create incredibly tasty meals for the whole family in 20 minutes or less!”

You get the idea. There are a couple of major problems with this blog. It sounds a lot like an ad and doesn’t provide any educational content, thus it is likely to be flagged or ignored by a majority of readers. Also, it is an extremely weak piece as far as search engine placement because it doesn’t have any “keywords” in it. Keywords and key phrases are what a person types in when they’re searching for things on Google and Yahoo. In the example with cookbooks, they will look for “the best Indian food cookbook”, “electronic cookbook reviews”, “best Chinese recipies” and other such key phrases.

Think about what it is that you have to offer that is unique and interesting. Perhaps, using the cookbook example, it’s your exotic Ethiopian food recipies. Then, it would be a good idea to target that audience by providing a blog like this:

“Ethiopian Food – Is It The Right Choice For Your Family? Recipies, Cooking Tips etc.

Ethiopian cuisine consists of spicy vegetable and meat dishes, served atop injera, a large sourdough flatbread. Ethiopians eat with their right hands, using pieces of injera to pick up bites of entrées and side dishes. No utensils are used.

Ethiopian cuisine is gaining popularity with families in America: the children are allowed to eat with their hands while getting a highly nutritious meal, filled with lean protein and vitamins.

So, is Ethiopian food the right choice for your family? You decide! Here is an easy-to-prepare recipe of one the most popular Eithiopian dishes, provided by Super-Duper-Crazy-Cookbooks.com:

The recipe is here.”

A couple of notes about this blog: it provides something of value for free which is going to be appreciated by many people; it also contains many search engine key phrases such as “Ethiopian dish”, “Ethiopian Cusine” etc., which vastly increase the chances of this blog being found on the Internet.

Once your first entry is written, create an account with as many of the major blog sites as you can. It’s a very good idea to post your blog on at least 6-7 blog sites (you may wish to use a blog disseminator). If you haven’t yet joined an online business opportunity, make sure you ask your team leaders for help with blogs. For example, I provide a list of the best blog and article websites to my team along with detailed tips on how to post the blogs without any problems. Remember that the more blogs you write, the more people will go to your website. I would recommend writing a blog every other day for the first month after your start/join an opportunity.

I hope this was helpful to you! I wish you the best of luck in your blogging endeavors.

Blog Marketing for a New Online Business ? the Best Free Blog Websites and Posting Tips for You

June 11, 2010 - 1:41 am No Comments

As you know, blogging is one of the best ways to increase traffic flow to your new online business website (“Um, what’s blogging?” – if you don’t know much about writing blogs, please read this article first.) Once you write your first entry, you start wondering, what is the best place to post a blog? What are the top blog sites that could aid the marketing of your online business?

Here is a list of the best free blog web-sites that I use myself and recommend to my team members:

“Oh no!” – you say. – “So many sites to sign up for! I hate that!” No worries – I recommend you use the free version of the software called Roboform (http://www.roboform.com/) for all of your Internet sign-ups. Roboform fills out your forms automatically with a push of a button, which reduces your sign-up time to a few seconds per website.

Generally, it’s good not to make your blog sound too promotional, with no more then 2 links to any one web-site per entry, but Wordpress and Hubpages are especially strict when it comes to blog content. Make sure you don’t put anything that sounds like a “direct sell” onto those websites – otherwise your entries will get deleted and your account could get suspended.

If you like to write your entries in Word Document and then post them to the blog web-sites, make sure you preview your blogs before posting them. Blogs imported from Word tend to show up with a bunch of gibberish HTML codes, visible on top of the page. You would have to go to the blog edit window, and remove those manually. Once you post your entry on one of the websites I would recommend to copy and paste it from that site for when you start putting your blog on others. That way, you will be rid of the Word HTML codes forever.

Posting your blog manually to all of the above web-sites will take anywhere from an hour to 3 hours, depending on how fast you can work. My team and I have cut our posting time to 30-45 minutes, using a great free blog disseminator (a service which auto-posts blogs to various web-sites for you). I strongly recommend blog disseminators to anyone who values their time.

A quick note about the disseminators: they don’t auto-post blog tags – only the body of the blog – so make sure you put your tags underneath every entry. I advise my team against using simple one or two-word tags, the reason being, that they act as keywords for search engines and if they are too general, your posting will not get nearly as much traffic. For example, try googling the keywords “blogging”, “blog” or “online business”. There are millions of search engine results for each of them. What is the chance that YOUR blog will show up on the first page?

Instead, try using longer tags. Think of something an actual person would search for in Yahoo! or Google. For example, good keywords/tags for this particular blog are:

Where to post a blog, best websites to post a blog, top blog sites, top blog web-sites, the best place to post a blog, marketing a new online business, online business marketing, blogging for a new business, writing a blog for a new business, how to post a blog, new online business marketing tips, best free blog sites, best free blog websites

If you haven’t yet joined an online business opportunity, make sure you ask your team leaders for help with blogs, as they are extremely important to your development as a marketer. For example, I provide my team with links to various blog directories and with detailed tips on how to avoid common blogging mistakes. Remember that the more blogs you write, the more people will go to your website. I would recommend writing a blog every other day for the first month after your start/join an opportunity.

I hope this was helpful to you! I wish you best of luck in your blogging endeavors.

There is work involved in creating a blog. It takes time and commitment to write interesting and informative blog posts. But it may prove to be well-spent especially if it helps generate sales. a

Business Blogging – Generating Money by Writing a Blog Online Requires Development of Realistic Plan

May 29, 2010 - 1:22 am No Comments

To blog or not to blog? That is the question. Lately, blogs (short for Web logs, a type of Web journal) are the big buzz among marketing pros for the help www.bloggers-guide-to-profit.com. While top bloggers can make big-time money from ad revenues, the odds of striking it rich by creating an ultra-popular blog are probably on par with winning the lottery. But, don’t rule out creating a blog for your business just yet.Blogs can be a great way to build brand loyalty and gain new customers. Even if you never make a cent from blog ad revenues — and you probably won’t — gaining even one new client would likely pay for the small investment you make in this low-cost marketing technology. What should your blog be about? Ideally, something strongly relating to your business — this positions you as an expert in your field. A sporting goods store could blog about great hikes, local camp sites and rock climbing classes. An ad agency could discuss the latest developments in their local ad climate and the newest advertising strategies. If you don’t have the time or skill set to write a blog — don’t worry. Freelance writers can easily be brought in to write a blog entry on a weekly, or even daily, basis. You could even hire several different writers to blog about a different subject each week. Or, have your writer ghostwrite a weekly column for your company CEO or president. With just a little time and effort each week, a blog can be a great way to build and nurture your customer base and grow your business.Individuals that dream of blogging for profit can do so with a minimal understanding of blogging software and the willingness to put in the time and hard work necessary. Yet, only a small percentage of individuals actually get the profits they expected from their blog. So why is that? There are fundamentally two reasons people don’t succeed who attempt to make money through their blogs. Often, bloggers are unrealistic of how quickly their blog readership will grow and how much money they will make. When these heightened expectations are not met, often they are discouraged and just stop blogging for the help www.feed-reader-links.com. The other trap that many bloggers fall into is that they don’t plan. Generating money by writing a blog online requires development of a realistic plan and to stick to it.In order to make money with blogging, it is critical that you have a lot of readers, ie. traffic. The more traffic you have, the more advertisers will pay to advertise on your blog. However, obtaining the regular visitors needed in order to make a profit isn’t a walk in the park. A good idea or attractive writing style is no longer enough to grab readers’ attention. You have to market your blog to generate traffic to it.There are many ways to market your blog. One is by writing articles such as this one and putting the link to your blog in the resource or author box. Others are by adding comments to other peoples’ blogs or in related forums, always adding a link back to your own blog. Then there’s social media sites like Twitter, Squidoo, Hub pages, etc. Building quality content on these websites and linking to your blog can all generate traffic. The problem is that some bloggers focus too much on writing and neglect advertising their blog. You have to market your blog for traffic to know where to find it. Readers of blogs will regularly return to your blog if you regularly update it with new content that has value. Regular updates allow blog search engines and directories to keep your internet rating high. Of course, regular blog posts won’t matter if no one is reading. That’s why it is so critical to spend the time to draw visitors to your blog website. Even if it means not posting quite as often so you can spend some of your time marketing, as long as you’re providing value in the posts you make, the readers will return.

What Is Blogging And How Does Blogging Affect The Success Of Any Online Business

May 17, 2010 - 2:52 pm No Comments

Blogging is all about roaring to the world and telling them what is on your mind! No but seriously, at its simplest, blogging is about giving voice to your opinion to an online audience. But that’s not all that blogging is and why it is phenomenally successful. Blogging for example can be about making money too if that is your inclination, and it is indeed the route that a lot of successful marketers have embraced. The word blog originates from the amalgamation or joining of the two words web & log which were then abbreviated to form the single word blog! A log is a type of diary most perhaps commonly kept by Sea Captains (or in the future space captains such as Star Trek’s Captain Kirk). The owner or author of the log writes down events and occurrences that they have experienced; this can be on a daily basis or less frequently. So in answer to the query “what is blogging,” simply put, blogging is the activity of updating an online diary known as a blog which is a mobile website. The expression mobile website in this context refers to the way in which a blog’s homepage changes regularly as newer articles (posts) supersede older ones. This fashion of a constantly changing home page is in direct contrast to the homepage of a traditional or static website that characteristically remains unchanged; hence the name static website. There are several different blog platforms (a subject which I shall delve into in more detail later on) but whatever the blog platform type there are certain attributes that are common to all. Such attributes or characteristics include the following:A. ARTICLES. Blogs typically consist of a main central area of content comprised of articles (also referred to as posts). These articles are listed in chronological order with the most recent article residing topmost of the blog. Each article is characterized with a title element which is then followed by body text that has contextual relevance to the post or article heading.B. ARCHIVES. No matter the type of blog or blogging platform, another consistent element or characteristic of all blogs is the existence of an archive. A blog archive is that region or place where older articles (posts) are stored thereby making them easily accessible to visitors who wish to peruse those older articles that are no longer visible on the homepage of the blog. Having an archive makes natural sense otherwise on a blog that is updated daily the soon enough the homepage of the blog would literally extend forever.C. COMMENTS & COMMENTING. Perhaps the most striking difference between blogs and traditional (static) websites is that blogs allow visitors to interact in a manner that is generally not possible on a static (traditional) web site. Such visitor interactivity typically takes the form of comments left by visitors in response to or with respect to a particular post (article). This feature alone makes blogs appear more trustworthy and credible to the average person.D. ADDING NEW CONTENT TO YOUR BLOG IS DEAD EASY. Perhaps the biggest attraction to blogs and probably the single most responsible reason for their phenomenal success is the fact that they are just ever so easy to manage. With traditional websites unless you have web-mastering skills and have a decent command of code or markup language by necessity you’ll need to rely on a webmaster to update and manage your blog. Such an arrangement is both tedious and expensive. With a blog though you don’t have that problem; as long as you can type then you can blog! The simple fact of it is blogging is no more difficult than emailing.E. BLOGS RISE UP THE SEARCH ENGINES RAPIDLY. When you think about it, whether one is in the business of trying to make money online or not, the fact remains that every website owner has one thing in common with the next. And that is, they are all looking for an audience! In other words, no matter the topic of your website, be it about expensive classic cars or whether it is merely an online venue for you to rant, you need and want visitors otherwise there would be little point in you maintaining an online presence. Blogs, luckily, make it that much easier for anybody to quickly and easily acquire their very own online audience. How?Because blogs get indexed extremely rapidly by the search engines and for some reason or other (probably the fact that the homepage is dynamic and changes on a regular basis) they tend to rise much faster up the search engines than the average traditional website. The rapid rise of a blog up the search engines means that the owner of such a blog would outpace older and better established static websites and would rank well for the high traffic volume keywords sooner than later!

Discover Benefits Of Hiring A Professional Blogger For Your Business

Whether you’ve been marketing your business on the web for years or you are just starting out and recognize that web marketing will greatly contribute to your business success, there’s one thing that’s key to keeping your company name on people’s minds: keeping a blog. With a blog, you’ll be able to keep fresh content on your website which adds values for site visitors and draws in the search engine spiders.
What many business owners find – those whose companies are well-established as well as those who are just starting out – is that it takes time to keep a website up to date. They also find that keeping a blog can take a chunk of time out of their day, time that could be used for any number of other activities from taking client calls to checking on production to making sure that the bills are getting paid. Often, despite their best intentions, business owners give up on posting to their blog whether they just give it up all at once or let their posts trickle off slowly.
All of a sudden, even though you know that you should keep a blog for your business, you’ll find that it slips off of your priority list and on to your list of things to do. And then you’ll find that it slips to that part of the list where things just stay either forever or until everything else on the list is something .
There’s a good way of avoiding the problem, however: hire a professional blogger to write the blog for your business.
Why would you hire a professional blogger? Well, to begin with, when you’re working with someone who operates a business dedicated to blogging that is staffed by trained bloggers, you’ll know that the person writing your blog knows the tips, tools and techniques that will draw attention to your blog. Not only will you be able to benefit from the blogger’s experience, but you won’t have to spend time learning the techniques or writing the posts.
While those are, in themselves, great benefits, the list doesn’t stop there. When you contract with a blogging company, you’ll know what you’re getting. If you hire a blogger who will post to your blog daily, you can be sure that there will be fresh content added to your site each day. If you hire someone to post five times a week, you’ll have five posts each week. A professional blogger makes a commitment to you, a commitment that the job will be done.
As a result, you get all of the benefits that come with having a blog for your business – increased site traffic, incoming links to your website and a relationship with current and prospective customers – without any of the hassle. You don’t have to worry about days without posts, coming up with content or staying on top of all of the latest tips and tools that bloggers use to get their work noticed. In no time, you’ll find yourself reaping the rewards of a well-written blog.
