5 Blogging Tips for You

May 26, 2010 - 12:09 am No Comments

There are hundreds if not thousands of blogs being registered daily. However, not many people have a strong idea of how to setup a blog to make money with it. Even when you setup a money making blog, money doesn’t come immediately. You need to work for it and be patience to start seeing the money to come to you.

When you are ready, below are some tips to help you make money with blog.

1. Research

When you are starting anything online, you need to do a research to have an idea of what your result will be. When you are starting your blogging business, you will want to research your niche. The easiest way is to look into your interest, magazines and best selling list.

When you have your niche, it is recommended that you build your blog on the sub-niche. Let’s say your niche is relationship, maybe you can blog about husband and wife relationship. You will be more focus in your blog post and you blog will seem more professional rather than posting everything about relationship.

2. Setup your blog

Your blog name does play it parts when comes to ranking high in search engine result page (SERP). So, see that your main keyword is incorporated into your blog name.

For the husband and wife relationship sub-niche you just chosen, guideforthemarried.com seems to tell what you are offering in your blog.

3. Optimize your blog

When you are optimizing your blog, remember that you are doing it for the search engines and your readers. So, choose 2-3 keyword phrases about husband and wife relationship and write your post around them. This will then help to get your blog listed in the SERP.

Optimizing your blog for search engines will only get your blog rank high in SERP. Still, your readers are the real people who help you to make money with blog. They are the one who click on your advertisement and buy your affiliate product.

When viewers see you are forcing your keywords into your posts and made it sound unnatural, they will not come back to you again. When that happens, you will fail miserably in your blogging business.

4. Monetizing your blog

When you are done with optimizing your blog, it is time you build some affiliate link to your blog post. Find your product from the affiliate program network and promote them in your blog.

When you are looking for your affiliate product, look for one that gives code for banners too. You will want to put some of these banners in your sidebar so that your blog look more interesting. However, you need to be careful when you are putting banners on your blog because too much of them can distract your viewers’ attention.

5. Drive traffic

How much money you can make with blog depends highly on the traffic to your blog. So, the more people read your blog and convinced by you, the more you can earn. What you can do is to submit articles to various article directories online. When you have extra money to spare, you can always get an article submission service to do the job for you. If you are low on budget, you can look for the top 10-15 article directories and submit the articles yourself.

Another good way to drive traffic to your blog is to link to other’s blog. Before you can link to other bloggers, you will want to comment on their post. Share constructive comments about what they say, they will be happy to link to you. Then you will be able to leverage on the blogger existing traffic to build your blogging business.

Tips to Establish an Online Presence – BloggingYour Google CV is vitally important to your online brand and as a result you will need to strive to occupy as many of the listings on page one of the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) as possible. There are a variety of ways to achieve this and we will be looking at a new set of tips to help you establish and heighten your online presence each week.A Quick Look at BloggingDerived from the word weblog, a blog is essentially a website that sports continuously updated information in the form of posts that are displayed in reverse chronological order. Typically a blog will sport the following features: content area, title, comment area, an archive of older posts and a feed which users can use to subscribe to it.A blog allows individuals the opportunity to foster an online identity, engage with a community and establish themselves as experts in a given arena. Blogs enable you to participate in conversations taking place in your industry or area of specialisation as well as allow you to build your own voice – all the while heightening your web presence. To promote yourself online via blogging you will need to implement a solid blog strategy. Think about the goals you want your blog to achieve and ensure that each post is geared at achieving them. But remember, a blog can not be a purely promotional tool – if readers wanted information on you or your offering exclusively they’d visit your website. Better Blogging TipsThere are millions of blogs in existence with new blogs being launched every second. But not all blogs are created equally, in fact more than half of the blogs launched don’t make it past the first three months. If you are serious about utilising blogging to establish an online presence, you will need to make a commitment to do just that. Blogging does take work, but the rewards are worth it.In order to make sure that your blog is attracting readers and that its profile (and by association yours) is being raised daily, you’ll need to pay special attention to the flowing tips for better blogging.Promote your blog – With millions of blogs in existence, you’ll need to promote your blog in order to attract readers. There are many ways in which you can promote your blog. Listing your blog in blog directories like Blog Hub, Technorati and Bloglisting is a good start. Using your preferred social networking or business networking site is another excellent way of alerting your friends, colleagues and clients to the existence of your blog and where they can find it. Your blog will be tied in to your professional self – the “you” that you want potential clients, invertors or employers to meet. If you are in the online marketing game, a link to your blog which details your daily TV viewing habits should be scrapped in favour of a blog which offers insight into your industry.Participate – Conversation is key to blogging. You need to not only participate with your audience, but with other bloggers operating in your sphere too. By leaving insightful comments on other blogs the authors, or their readers, may follow the link back to your blog and if they like what they see chances are that they will come back.Frequency – Posting too often may overwhelm readers and posting too infrequently may mean that your readers will come back, find nothing new and as a result not come back again. A post a day is ideal, but very few individuals have that kind of time on their hands. Try for at least three new posts each week.Good content – How many times have you heard that content is king – well, it’s true as long as it’s good content. If your readers are gaining value by visiting your blog and if you are giving them what they are looking for they will come back. It’s important to try things out and re-evaluate your blog strategy as you go. SEO – Search engine optimisation is an eMarketing tactic which sees bloggers and website owners optimising their sites for certain search phrases in order to get their sites listed as high up on the SERPs as possible. You may want to conduct some key phrase research and ensure that your posts target those pages. The higher up you are on the SERPs the more likely searchers are to find your blog. Keep an eye out on our blog for future posts that will guide you through the process of utilising SEO to build your online presence.Monitor – The sheer amount of consumer generated media has made online reputation monitoring essential. Blogger’s Survival Tips

May 20, 2010 - 1:29 pm No Comments

Any avid blogger will tell you that blogging is very hard work, and there have been rare cases where bloggers have admitted to letting blogging disrupt their family life, friendships in the real world, finances and time.

We are not advocating extreme behavior. But sometimes we cant help admire some of the reasons they give – one of the favorites is that blogging is not just about writing or sharing, but the enormous satisfaction one gets being an active participant in exploring human experiences, knowledge, emotions and passions.

Let’s take a trip into time, back to the early hay days of the Internet. You had to pay for everything; set up of the website, hosting, server managed services, email accounts, and promoting your website. Other than that one needed the services of costly website developers to change a line of text, or a simple graphic.

It was little wonder that only companies could afford these exorbitant rates, leaving individuals and many professionals as passive participants, who could view, compare, give feedback, or buy.

Today the individual has the power to be active participants on the Internet with blogs, social bookmarking and social networking becoming commonly used terminology by college students, innovative brands and even large organizations.

Blogging gave the individual the power to create attractive pages of content with pictures, videos, and share it with the world on click of a button.

The present seems secure enough, and thousands of new blogs are being created each day, the numbers of users reading blog are on the rise, bloggers have started making a modest sum for their hard work, and popular blogs are ranking well in search engine results.

But what’s sad is that 90 percent of them will witness a sad demise because of simple things they did not know (not did not do) when they started blogging. Around 8 percent of blogs will never be read, and 1 percent will give up after a year of hard struggle. Well that leaves 1 percent of blogs that will have any hope for survival, let alone success.

Now don’t get discouraged, blogging is most fulfilling, but rather look within to see the reason why you want to blog and about what? Answering those questions honestly could mean the difference between success or the demise of your blog.

In the animal kingdom, it’s the survival of the fittest.

In the blogging world, it’s the most persistent, innovative and passionate bloggers that will survive. It will not be just about what you do, but what you feel, and how you perceive the world you so write about that will make the difference.

Great Tips for blogger survival:

1. Write about something you know, and are passionate about. After all you will not want to write 3-5 times a week on a subject that you are unfamiliar with, or are not passionate about.

2. Add your complete profile with a nice photograph. Readers like to know a little about you.

3. Be persistent in your writing, your readers expect something new each time they visit.

4. It’s not about quantity, but quality. Write clean good copy, use humor and examples with nice visuals.

5. Innovate, don’t give the same content rehashed, do things differently, give your blog a distinct voice.

6. Make your blog customized, attractive and easy to navigate.

7. Add a search to your blog.

8. Allows your readers to interact with your blog (polls, comments, social bookmarking).

9.Your readers are your customer’s; get to know their likes and dislikes, pay attention to their comments and always answer right away.

10. Create links within your blog posts, to your other blog posts.

11. Create links from your blog post to your website (if you have one) and from your website to your blog. Also give links to other external reference sites that might add value to your reader.

12. Build links from other blogs, and popular websites to your blog.

13. Register your blog on blog search engines and blog directories.

14. Announce your blog to the world on press release sites.

15. Submit your blog posts to popular article submission sites. Don’t overdo it.

16. Register your blog feed (Atom/ RSS) with content feed syndicates.

17. Track the visitors on your blog using services like Google Analytics.

18. Monitize your blog with adwords and select affiliates that adds value for your readers.

19. Track and read other blogs in competition with you. What are they doing different?

20. Track the most popular blogs, see what they are doing (how often are they posting, the titles, the quality of content, do they use graphics and videos, do they answer comments etc).

21. Leave interesting comments for other bloggers. They will notice you!

Tips on Web Hosting for Bloggers

April 22, 2010 - 3:35 am No Comments

Whether you have only recently decided to become a blogger, or have been blogging for quite some time, you will be keenly interested in what advantages a web hosting company offers you. Remember that since you are embarking on a blogging career, that you are mainly interested in features that will simplify the process of blogging or enhance it.

What are some of the most important features that bloggers look for in web hosting? Let’s start with the most important factors: web space. You need to ensure that you have enough storage space to post for years on end and that you won’t inadvertently violate any contracts. It’s not uncommon for bloggers to seek out contracts with unlimited storage space, which provides total peace of mind. In addition to web space, bandwidth is an important issue. Bandwidth refers to the amount of data transfer that is allowed every month. Most websites believe they are quite generous in providing up to 33 gigabytes of data transfer per month. However, bloggers are more impressed with unlimited bandwidth options.

In addition, bloggers might want the ability to use or install various applications on their blog, such as SSH, SSL, FTP, Stats, CGI, Perl, PHP or MySQL. Bloggers also want to have freedom to post streaming video content as well as streaming audio and other features that standard web hosting companies may not offer. It can be difficult to design your own blog using HMTL or Front Page Express. Therefore, one of the most important features for new bloggers is a drag-and-drop site builder, which gives users a What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get style program to make the blog creation process very easy to follow.

Blogging can be serious business and if there is a technical problem you want to know what is happening. Therefore, there are two important features to look out for, including 24-hour technical support (and toll free at that) and 24-hour server monitoring. A 30-day satisfaction guarantee is also recommended in case you run into an unchangeable feature you simply cannot stand. Bloggers today might also demand compatibility with top programs like WordPress, B2evolution, PMachine Pro and Nucleus.

How do you know which blog hosting company offers the best deal? Read the reviews of your favorite sites and take note of the averages, noting any site that has pages of negative reviews, as well as sites that have average-to-stellar reviews. Choose carefully so that you can share your blogging knowledge with the world for many years to come.

Actually, blog online marketing is not all that hard if you know what you are doing. However, if this is your very first blog and you are wondering how to get readers or subscribers to it then you are in the right place. First let me just say that marketing your blog is going to require patience, and being consistent. READ THIS: If you are looking for how to build successful and profitable blog online. I am sure that those tips in this article will help you get the ideas of how to setup your own blog in the right way.

Here are some great tips to use when trying to get your blog out there and get new readers. You’ll discover workable tips and secrets of how to build successful blog and earn money with your blog.

1) The first key for your successful in blog online marketing is to update your blog frequently. We can not put enough emphasis on this tip. If you tell your readers that you are going to update your blog daily, then do it. If you tell them that you will be writing in your blog weekly, don’t let them down. Your readers are what make your blog successful. You may not realize this in the beginning, and you will have few readers in the beginning as well, but you will eventually build a readership base and have people checking out your blog regularly. Maybe you do not plan on telling your readers how often you will update your blog. That is ok too. However, think about this, if you were reading a blog on a weekly basis, and you expected to see the blog that you like to read updated at least once a week, you would be very disappointed to find out that it was not. Sure, things happen that might prevent you from updating, and that is expected, and excused, but week after week can hurt you and cause you to lose readers.

2) You are going to want to be sure that all of your posts are formatted. Doing so will leave out any confusion for the search engines and you will have everything nice and neat and all organized. The label tags are there for a reason when you are dealing with blogs. So using them and not leaving them out is a great idea.

3) I would recommend you to ensure that your blog has the track back feature. Let me tell you why. When you have the track back feature on your blog, you are allowing other people to link back to your blog. Maybe someone has a post to post on their blog that is relevant to one of yours. They can use the talkback to your post, and send their readers to your blog so that they know what they are referring to. Another good thing to remember is that if someone gives you a track back, it is a courtesy to return that to their blog if at all possible.

4) Having a Google account and submitting a sitemap is almost a must when you are blog online marketing. Doing so will allow Google to know how often you are updating your blog and they will automatically know of any changes that you have made to it as well. This will let Google get those new pages indexed faster and get them into search results much quicker than if you did not have the sitemap. There is a certain way you have to do the sitemap for Google, and they can explain that to you. Just know this is an important step to blog online marketing.

5) Exchanging links with authority blogs and websites that are in your same market is another great way to get the word out about your blog. The authority sites are going to have a higher page rank, and will also be listed high in Google’s search results. So do some searches and check those out and see if they are up to exchanging links. If they are not, you could always just add those into your blogroll. You do not need permission to do that if they are not into linking. However, in the world of blogs, most blog owners are thankful for all links, and are willing to return the favour.

6) Tracking is another part of blog marketing that is so very important. You want to be able to track your visitors and clickers to know where they are coming from. You want to be able to tell what keywords they searched on to find your blog and where they did their searching. Doing so will help take out all of the guess work when it comes to blog marketing. You will know what keywords are working, and which are not.

7) Allowing RSS feeds from your blog is also another great blog online marketing tool. You are going to find that when you allow RSS feeds, your blog is going to end up all over the internet with a link back to it and that is a good thing. This is a wonderful way to get links to your blog with little or no effort. People that subscribe to your blog’s RSS feeds are able to then post your blog posts on their sites or blogs. This in return gives you a link on their site or page that they have you on.
8) While you are working on your readership base, and trying to gain readers, you are going to find that commenting on blogs that are relevant to yours will surely help. Find a blog that is on the same topic to yours, or close to it and leave comments. You can also make a track back with your blog postings to comment on your own blog. Doing so will probably more than likely give someone else the urge to track back to your blog. This will be good for it as well. Commenting on blogs that get many comments will make your blog seen by those interested in that market. You will gain traffic and readers that way, and it is easy as well as free.

9) Learn and apply SEO to your blogs. SEO is search engine optimization. You are going to find that if you want your blog to go anywhere, you need SEO, and you need to know how to use it to the advantage of your blog. Just like a website, a blog will be better off optimized.

Tips To Help Build Your Blogging Skills

January 9, 2010 - 9:44 am No Comments

I decided to start a blog because I enjoy writing. My first blog post wasn’t very attention-grabbing, but I wanted to write about my personal experiences. Secretly, I imagined a career as a freelance writer. One day, instead of daydreaming about becoming a writer, I began researching information about the social networking industry. I was amazed by how many people blog on a daily basis and I wanted to become a part of this fascinating social phenomenon. So, I frequently browse the internet and visit book stores or libraries for more information.

Here’s a few tips that I learned to help boost your blogging skills:

Writing good quality content helps you to establish credibility.  No one likes to read something that they don’t understand or is misleading.  Meaningful topics that are well thought out can increase traffic to your blog, instead of making posts that are filled with a bunch of fluff.  Don’t make blog entries just for the sake of posting because fluff stuff only purpose is to take up space. You should make every effort to establish a relationship with the reader by encouraging comment discussions.  Also, strive to address the reader’s needs and connect through email.

Keep in mind, many people do not read blogs word for word and may start by skimming quickly to see if it’s worth their time.  It’s a good idea to break up your content by using bold text, sub sections and add color to text links.  Modifying your text will help get your message across to readers that are glancing at your post.

Use a conversational tone because it’s easier to read and smoother to digest.  Always use correct spelling and proper punctuation.  Proofread your content once or twice before posting your message.

Take your time writing good quality content and be resourceful.  Make an effort to help your readers in each post that you make.  The internet is filled with millions of readers that share first-hand information and common interests about any number of topics.

Learn from other bloggers mistakes and don’t underestimate the potential of your blog.  If you want to start blogging seriously, get your own domain name and hosting service.  You’ll have more control over your content and learn what you need to do if you want to monetize your blog.

Don’t forget to backup all your blog posts.  Use external devices, such as USB flash drives to save your data or use an online backup service.  Remember, computers often crash and your information may not be recoverable.

If you use a social networking site to make blog posts, keep in mind their site may develop glitches or problems.  Some known issues bloggers have experienced include disappearing content, difficulties logging on, being unable to view profiles and error messages when posting content.
